I love the outdoors and it has been a huge passion to become more apart of it every day. I am not talking about trying to get myself out in the public spotlight within the hunting community. There is way to much of that going on at the moment. What I am really talking about is experiencing many different yet wonderful opportunities that can present itself if only you stop and take a moment to see.
As Ferris Bueller said in the movie, Ferris Bueller's Day Off, "Four-thousand restaurants in the downtown area, I pick the one my father goes to"
.... What?
no no that isn't not the one. : )
This one.. "If you don't stop and take a look around once in a while, you might miss it"
As simple as it may seen. It is hard to believe that in only a years time how little we really take in the wonders which we have free access to. Am I wrong?
For a moment, close your eyes and take a snapshot of all the times you spend outdoors away from the storm of technology. Could you say it is far less then the amount of time you spend at work, on your car, arguing with family, spending money on sometime pointless things.
Does it happen... Sure it does... It's called life or so we think.
Why is it that we spend so much time filling our live with everything we want but sometime can't afford. Here in America we seem to be the worst at this. I am just as guilty as anyone. If it's not buying things then it's constantly being online.
If you are like me and use Twitter and Facebook religiously, then you might want to look and see how much time you are actually spending typing away to someone on your buddy list. What happen to just picking up the phone? Well now that our world has become a wireless pipeline and with the iPhone 3Gs making the personal computer seem like yesterdays news. It's hard to step away. I mean why stop..... right?
If you are going to spend your days killing time by being virtually social then try using CamoSpace.com and or the new Camo Lounge social network which have become the most popular hunting communities for us the outdoor enthusiasts.
As I send my days working on the computer building websites and dreaming of new business opportunities, I still can't get past the feeling of just getting away from it all. Taking my lovely wife and dog with me and spending the day with each other, walking though a park that wraps around a nature trail. Total Zen.........
I still feel at the end of the day while look out my office window (house window), could I be doing something better outdoors?
